Life Before VOIP Phones-Remember It?

I would probably like phones more if they looked like this.
Its hard to imagine how life was before we had mobile phones, I have personally owned a mobile since I was 13 years old and since then they have come a long way from the Nokia brick I used to own. Now I have a Blackberry and recently I have been feeling inclined to throw it away! Drives me mad at times, all the social media and email alerts feel constant. However, take me away from it for over a day and I begin to feel a little lost-how sad is that? Technology really seems to have accelerated in the last ten years, before you’d be quite special if you owned a mobile phone, but now even my sixteen year old brother has a better phone than me and really uses VOIP phones too. I didn’t even know what one of those was until recently-he saves loads of money talking to his friends online with his computer. Mum pays the internet connection-genius.
