Honesty Is The Best Health Insurance Policy

Written by Letitia on April 21, 2010 – 9:50 am -

Recently in the papers a model named Hayley Dixon has been caught out lying, after loosing her uninsured Blackberry phone in the gym, she panicked and decided to claim she had been mugged.

However this was all very well until the helpful gym found her Blackberry and handed it in to the police so now she has been liable to pay over £500 for wasting police time. Mobile phone insurance is not the only insurance you don’t want to attempt to deceive, as health insurance companies are becoming wiser to fraudsters too.

For example, health insurers will look in detail at all circumstances of a claim so that they can be certain they are covering genuine claims and not fake ones. As some people actually lie on their application for insurance, such as smokers claiming they are non-smokers only to claim on a smoking-related disease later on. You can guarantee that your claim will be rejected, and rightly so- there are many people that actually require their claim and have always been honest.

Corporate Video Production Is Changing

Written by Letitia on April 12, 2010 – 4:18 pm -

I was looking through You Tube the other evening and looking at how we use advertising has changed and has affected TV adverts, viral videos and corporate video production. Long gone are the days that showed tight-lipped business men in suits looking unfriendly. It seems advertising has got a lot smarter and whatever the target audience is-then they are sure to be catered for.

From sheep with LEDs strapped on them to talking meerkats-it seems that the modern world is letting people get creative with their advertising. This is also changing the modern corporate video production as it has been proven that memorable videos are going to be far more successful than boring ones.

Bright characters that are intent on reminding you of the company in a quirky way and are full of entertainment are the best-let’s just hope there aren’t too many annoying adverts and far more funny ones!

Easter DIY-Keep Covered With Your Holiday Home Insurance

Written by Letitia on March 31, 2010 – 4:16 pm -

As the Easter weekend approaches it is thought that this is the weekend that most people decide to get their paint and tool kit out and do some DIY.  A recent survey predicts that a huge 20 per cent of people will want to sort their home out this weekend. Maybe it’s a good time to look over your holiday home insurance-especially if you fancy a bit of decorating in your holiday home.

Paint spillages, water pipe damage or dropping hammers accidently are all possible accidents that DIY wannabes may have to face this weekend. So just make sure if you decide to redecorate the holiday home or fancy doing some plumbing-that your holiday home insurance has you covered.

The last thing you want to do is end up costing yourself extra money for the weekend-where really you could be spending it on chocolate and Easter bunnies!

Bathroom Tiles Refresh

Written by Letitia on March 29, 2010 – 3:38 pm -

I have been looking into decorating my bathroom recently but am not too keen on spending too much money. It seems my best option is to choose some really lovely bathroom tiles and let that expense speak for itself. The rest of the bathroom will have to wait till I have more expense but I do think that the tiles will make a lot of impact.

I have chosen some really beautiful ones and they are so different to the old white ones we have I think it will make a real difference when they are grouted in. It’s amazing how much a small but important part of a room can make a real difference aesthetically.

The bathroom tiles have arrived and are waiting in our hallway to be used and I am so excited! They will make our little bathroom look so much more modern and fresh!

Health Insurance & US Healthcare Reform

Written by Letitia on March 26, 2010 – 10:12 am -

everyone should be entitled to health care

The media has been covered in information this week about America and the amendment to the US healthcare. Currently in the US there isn’t a universal system of health coverage. There are government-funded but usually it is left up to individuals to pay for health insurance.

Most people are covered by their employees but some American’s choose to sign up to private healthcare schemes. Under most plans that are available people are just expected to pay regular premiums but sometimes are required to pay part of the cost of their treatment (known as a deductible)  before the insurer will cover the cost. The amount of the deductible will vary on the plan and the amount the individual pays.

There are many problems with this system currently, one being the huge cost it is to the people of America and that around 46.3 million people are uninsured.

Corporate Events & Work Friendships

Written by Letitia on March 12, 2010 – 10:10 am -

isn't data entry fun!

It has been a busy couple of weeks at work recently, feeling particularly tired each night and looking forward to the weekend so I can relax. My other half has also been really busy and every night this week it feels like he has been away for corporate events.

I don’t like it when he is away I feel very lonely in our little flat! I know that he has to do it for work and schmooze but I wish he didn’t have to so much. It is funny with work, you do end up becoming completely desensitised to whether you like people or not.

In my old job I used to work with people that I really don’t think I would like out of the workplace and it’s not until you are thrown into a social situation with them, such as corporate events, that it is make or break time. Sometimes you realise that you got the other person wrong, they DO have a sense of humour… or you discover the complete opposite.

Becoming A Neo Luddite- Sorry VOIP Phones

Written by Letitia on March 9, 2010 – 4:22 pm -

Bueller? Bueller? anyone?

Was looking through our junk draw last night (you know we all have one-usually created by men it is made up of sellotape, batteries, string and takeaway menus)when I found my old Nokia phone 3110. Do you know what was even more impressive? When I turned it on the green screen flashed with life. These phones are proper industrial, there will be a nuclear war and I swear they will survive. They just don’t make them like they used too.

They really don’t, I have found recently that a few of my friends have been using online software with VOIP phones to talk for free on the internet. Whatever I don’t know what that all means, I used to use MSN and all of that and I am definitely part of the mobile/Facebook generation but I really prefer talking face to face now. I used to think they were all so intimate-when they really aren’t.

Keep It Eco With Ecards

Written by Letitia on March 8, 2010 – 4:04 pm -

Happy Mummy Day!

Oh I totally forgot that it is Mother’s Day this weekend, stress! Stress! I love buying my mum presents each year and she is really easy to buy for its just finance. I swear there is a student in me somewhere still that expects my weekly allowance to be put into my account. I see pretty things and just buy them without thinking of the state of my poor account.

So this year I have decided that I am going to have to be a little cleverer with my mother’s day present. Am considering ecards and home-made jewellery…not sure. May have to do a little trip to Brick Lane and see if I can find any pretty buttons that I can string together. I will have to go for the ‘eco mother’s day’ option. After all I know my mum is really into saving the planet and stuff so I will weave a web of lies about ecards saving the forest and vintage buttons being more eco?

Oh The Sun’s Out-Let’s Throw Some Themed Parties!

Written by Letitia on March 4, 2010 – 2:45 pm -

the world's best costume? maybe.

Loving the sunshine today, although it’s still chilly the sun on my face on my lunch break really put me into a good mood. It also triggered off a whole load of memories of being by the seaside in the summers I spent in Brighton. Feeling completely nostalgic has made me want to get all of my friends together for a fancy dress party.

Themed parties are fantastic because everyone is bonded together by the theme of the evening! This is especially apparent if you hit the town for a while-I would love going out with a gang of friends all dressed up together-you’d meet people and they would mention how they saw your friend in a bar. You become definable for the evening and it’s a nice feeling.

Looking For A Boiler Service in London

Written by Letitia on March 4, 2010 – 9:24 am -

i hope so!

Have you ever seen the film the Money Pit? Yeah that is how my flat feels like at the moment-every time me and the other half move around something falls a part. The most recent is the boiler, which last night decided to break down.

Sat in the middle of our living room shivering we went through the phonebook looking for a list of boiler service companies. As we have learnt previously in the past it is easier said than done finding emergency help in London. You might presume that it would be easier but and hour and a half later and a lot of answer machine messages later to different ‘Gary’s’ and ‘Lees’ we finally had a boiler service man answer.
